Flooding in northern Armenia: the Debed River overflowed its banks due to heavy rains. Roads are flooded and bridges are collapsing. According to local media, a man died he could not get out of the sinking car. By this minute 232 people have been evacuated. Lori region was hit hardest by the disaster. A gas station exploded in the town of Alaverdi because of a short circuit. The Interior Ministry reports: a bridge was destroyed in the region, a section of the VanadzorAlaverdi road was flooded. Two crossings and several residential houses are completely under water. The M6 motorway, which connects Armenia with Georgia, is closed in both directions.
