The Boy Diver (1932)
A home made diving suit is demonstrated. Sydney, Australia. Introductory intertitle reads: Where is the boy who hasn t at one time or another dreamed of sunken treasure and the joys of diving for it Meet a game Sydney boy who makes his own diving Various shots of a 15 year old boy (Charlie ) getting into his home made diving suit. An older man (probably his father) helps him to put it on and some other boys assist. He wears a strange diving helmet that he has made himself, air is pumped into it. C, U of him adjusting the valve on his helmet. He lowers himself into the water. M, S of his friends on the surface one of them pumps air into the suit with a motorcycle pump. Shots of the water we can see the outline of the boy underwater. He emerges from the water and the narrator makes a joke about recovering gold bullion from the harbour.
