Glenn Spiro on designing Beyoncés papillon ring

Londonbased master jeweller G (Glenn Spiro), talks about his design for the exquisite papillon ring, worn by international icon Beyoncé KnowlesCarter. Spiro is famed for his vibrant and technically superb designs and his passion for gemstones. In the shape of a butterfly, the papillon ring uses an ingenious spring system, enabling the delicate titanium wings to gently flutter with the movement of the wearer s hand. Gifted to the V A by Beyoncé, the ring joins a collection of jewels associated with some of history s most notable women including Elizabeth I, Catherine the Great and the Empress Josephine.
