Tanzanite 101: Expert Advice on Buying Rare Gem
Due to its similarity in appearance to sapphires, Tanzanite is getting plenty of attention from jewellers as a rising star among colored gems. Benjamin Hackman, president of the International Colored Gemstone Association, offers some tips for buyers interested in this natural stone about its value, features and availability. Mr Hackman, who spoke at the inaugural Hong Kong International Diamond, Gem and Pearl Show in March 2014, also said Hong Kong is the source of half of global demand for Tanzanite.
