Turn: Washingtons Spies, , Shes Like the Swallow ( Cover)

LYRICS, CHORDS BELOW This is my cover of the song that plays in episode 3x04 of Turn at the wedding of Anna and Hewlett. Unfortunately, I couldn t find the show version online since they haven t released the soundtrack. I couldn t even find out who sang the song on the show. As for the lyrics, there are many versions because it s a traditional folk song from Newfoundland. The show version appears to be identical with the version that the English folk song collector Maud Karpeles published in 1934. On the show, only the first two verses are sung but I sang all the verses, using that particular set of lyrics. It gets a bit long and I do think it sounds better with the variation of the instrumentation in the show, with the violins and percussion (plus I have a lot of respect for the original vocalist because I found the song really quite difficult to sing for some reason).
