Palestinian held without charge gets 8 more months jail as earlier deal breached
An Israeli court has extended the detention of Palestinian prisoner Khalil Awawdeh, initially detained under a contentious law that allows the arrest of Palestinians on the basis of undisclosed evidence, and their being held without charge or trial. Khalil went on hunger strike to protest Israel s detainment policy, and his release was negotiated half a year later with Israeli authorities now walking back on that agreement and sentencing him to additional time in jail.
