Airplane is a comedy film released in 1980, directed by Jim Abrahams and the Zucker brothers. It is a parody of disaster movies, particularly the Airport film series. The film follows a hilarious and absurd storyline set on an airplane in distress. As the only person with flying experience on the plane, Striker reluctantly takes control of the aircraft after the pilot and copilot become incapacitated. He seeks guidance from air traffic controller Steve McCroskey and faces numerous comedic obstacles, including his own fear of flying and traumatic memories from his military service.
