Discourse Analysis Part 2: Foucauldian Approaches
From a lecture given in 2015 by Graham R Gibbs at the University of Huddersfield. This second session examines the ideas behind a Foucauldian Discourse Analysis and draws also on some ideas from Critical Discourse Analysis. The distinctive contributions of Michel Foucault s approach are discussed before some of the key ways of carrying out a Foucauldian analysis are examined. The session ends with a brief discussion of some of the criticisms of both Foucauldian and Psychological discourse analysis.
