Japanese Carpentry Study Group: andon
The andon, a type of freestanding Japanese room lamp, was the third study group project. This video shows scenes of the final assembly of the piece, interspersed with photo stills of the making process. The frame was made from solid coocbolo (a type of rosewood from Mexico) with a small amount of Jatoba employed for the insert frames.
