Aboriginal Dance, Djilpin Dancers from Arnhem Land

These guys are the Djilpin Dancers from Arnhem Land, Roy Ashley is the singer and his son Sammy Ashley the didgeridoo (yidaki) player. The songs and dances that are being performed belong to the Wagilak people. The Djilpin Dancers are seen here performing at the Darwin Festival, a mustsee event if you re ever in the Northern Territory in the dry season. The yidaki being used was loaned by iDIDJ Australia and was made by Bruce Burrngupurrngu.
