John Mc Cormack sings Ah, Moon of my Delight, from In a Persian Garden
In a Persian Garden is a song cycle written for four voices, by Liza Lehmann, published in 1896. The tenor solo, Ah, moon of my delight, is operatic in nature, and a perfect fit for McCormack s voice. The final high, soft note is a McCormack trademark. He was very proud (rightfully so) of his ability to produce high, mezzavoce sounds, which were very much appreciated by his huge audience.
