Thinking Through Political Organization: Militant Practice and Theory from the Organizational Point of View Presenter: Gabriel Tupinambá Discussant: Bruno Bosteels Event description: What does it mean for politics to be a form of thinking At a first glance, statements like politics thinks (Badiou) or people think (Lazarus) seem to demand a renewed attention to the inventiveness of actual concrete political processes, in a critical move away from stale and ossified reproduction of established political and theoretical propositions, even within the Left itself. This invitation, however, is quite often understood as if it also implied a rather weak idea of what thinking means: if political thinking is not philosophical, or scientific, then it is perhaps reducible to a contextual knowhow, a series of prescriptive declarations or some key insight into new points of effective intervention.
