Twin Scroll Turbocharger Explained

How twin scroll turbochargers scroll turbo chargers split the exhaust portion of the turbocharger into two channels, separating the incoming exhaust pulses. This maximizes the efficiency of the turbocharger, and allows for maximum exhaust scavenging. Other methods of twin scroll turbos utilize different size vanes, a smaller angled vane for boost at low RPM, and a larger vane for high RPM boost with higher exhaust flow.
