The Maytals, Pomps And Pride from 1972, one of my favourite songs from a huge repertoire of favoured songs by Toots and his Maytals. The DJ version, Carey And Lloyds, Come Down is a wonderful slice of Alcaponeesq vocal squeeks and yelps, and was released on the Grape record label also in 1972. Carey Johnson started off releasing a handful of cuts for Coxsone Dodd in the latter 1960 s, including Musical Scorcher and More Scorcher. Lloyd Young seems to be the baby of the duo, having started his career off in 1972 for Prince Tony and Winston Riley.
