The Japanese tea ceremony which you are watching is also called the Way of Tea, is a Japanese cultural activity involving the ceremonial preparation and presentation of matcha, powdered green tea. Green tea (緑茶 Ryokucha) is ubiquitous in Japan and therefore is more commonly known simply as tea (お茶 ocha).
