Big Pharma Knowingly Sold HIV Infected Products In Asia Latin America
Back in the early 1980s a division of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer knowingly sold bloodclotting agents infected with HIV to Asia and Latin America months after withdrawing them from Europe and the US. The division Cutter Biological continued to dump stocks of the factor VIII bloodclotting agent for hemophiliacs on poor countries for nearly a year after introducing a safer alternative. Jimmy suggests that after knowingly infected patients with HIV at a time when there was no cure, Big Pharma has given up the benefit of the doubt far too many afford the industry.
