Diversity in BBC not about skin colour , 25 Feb 21
The BBC has announced a new diversity directive which will require 95 of staff to complete unconscious bias training and which aims for 80 to declare their social class. The former Head of religion at the BBC Channel 4 told talkRADIO that diversity is not just about skin colour but about the diversity of people and where they come from. Speaking with Ian Collins, Aaqil Ahmed said: I think the issue is whether you re working class background, whatever your ethnicity is I don t think it s a bad thing to know what the makeup of your organisation is.
