Purple Rain l Andy Mc Kee

If you didn t already know it, Purple Rain is a song originally written by the legendary Prince. It appears on Andy McKees EP, Symbol (released in September 2021). Its an EP of new interpretations of songs that have inspired Andy McKee. You can stream Symbol here: Prince was a huge source of inspiration for Andy. Prince and Andy had a strong mutual admiration for each other s music. Prince discovered Andy s music on YouTube and became a fan. He invited Andy to tour with him in Australia. Andy came up with this acoustic arrangement of Purple Rain and Prince really dug it. Andy says, Prince was a staggeringly talented guy who left us too soon and I feel honored that he like my music.
