Lucien Cailliet (18971985) was a composer, wind player who spent many years with the Philadelphia Orchestra as both clarinetist and house arranger. His orchestrations of three Rachmaninoff piano preludes were recorded in 1950 by Eugene Ormandy and have been reissued on the Pristine label: (a) Prelude in C, minor; (b) Prelude in G major; (c) Prelude in G minor.
