The group was initially named Hurricane Pop consisting of members Serang (Mari), Gummi, Ellin, ChoA and Soyul. Serang, a former leader of the disbanded girl group Coin Jackson, left the group to pursue an acting career. ChoA s younger twin sister Way, was then added to preserve the group as a quintet.
