The inspiration behind the 2021 Flower Showhouse

The 2021 FLOWER Showhouse is situated 40 minutes outside of Birmingham, Alabama, on 700 acres of rolling fields. The 2, 200+ sq ft farmhouse, designed by Birminghambased architect Pete Pritchard and featuring interiors by Mary Evelyn McKee, sits on a hilly knoll surrounded by majestic hardwoods, stately evergreens, and lush meadows. The scenic Cahaba River, home of the famed Cahaba lilies, flanks one side of the property. The house was built as a private residence for FLOWER magazine s Founder and EditorInChief Margot Shaw and her husband, Gates.
