Shattered basin fired thing Andrea Pinheiro, 2019

A 16 mm film of various nuclear and geologically significant sites across the Southwestern United States and Northern Ontario. Pinheiro spent the past year recording various sites, such as the Trinity Site in Alamogordo New Mexico, the Petrified Forest in the Painted Desert of Northern Arizona and the Nevada Test site, the US governments nuclear testing ground. Her filmic composition moves across the dried clay and roots that she collected from the Goulais River near her home. Ultimately, the film acts as a meditative passage through multiple landscapes of time.
