Australia unveils A 589b budget to secure post pandemic recovery
Canberra has unveiled a budget worth 590 billion. The economic plan for the next financial year will return a deficit of around 100 billion about 5 of GDP. Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the budget will secure the country s economic recovery. The COVID19 pandemic tipped Australia into its first recession since the early 1990s. Canberra s second pandemic budget aims to bring down unemployment and revive the economy. The government sees GDP growing at 4. 25 in 2021, with unemployment falling below 5 in 2022.
