BDUC 2013 Fusion Dancehall Fusion Murder She Wrote by Cassandra Fox
I had SO MUCH FUN with this. This year I was stumped on what to do, but I often say when in doubt, go back to the and so I did. I decided less than a week before the competition to celebrate Jamaican music and dance because that is my roots and my start. I used One of my all time favourite songs which to me marks a keystone in the evolution and progression of reggae into dancehall, Murder She Wrote by Chaka Demus and Pliers. After that I went into Get Busy by Sean Paul which I feel was instrumental in the emergence of dancehall in mainstream pop music, and finally Hot Wuk by Mr. Vegas which represents current modern trends in dancehall in Jamaica. I had people ask why since I won champion in the fusion category last year I entered it again. I entered it again because I LOVE fusion. I love having fun with it, pushing myself and seeing what else I can come up with.
