If one were to compile a list of the best comedy films of Hindi Cinema, CHALTI KA NAAM GAADI is sure to feature in its top 10. The Black White film made in 1958 is still so fresh and relevant that it elicits nonstop laughter even today with its innocent and slapstick humour, devoid of any crudity or vulgarity. The film starring the 3 Ganguly brothers Ashok Kumar, Anoop Kumar Kishore Kumar was designed as a flop to show income tax losses. Ironically, it turned out to be the 2nd highest grossing film of 1958. It also featured beautiful Madhubala in a prominent modern avatar and her presence contributed immensely to the films success.
