In Flames Ordinary Story ( Bass Cover)
I was introduced to In Flames (and melodic death metal) in around 2001 by a childhood friend, and Ordinary Story was the first song I heard from them. Released in 1999 as the second song off their fourth studio album, Colony, Ordinary Story got me to sit up and take notice of unclean vocals as a sonic texture. The arrangement felt ahead of its time for metal, and really made me pay more attention to dynamics in music. Peter Iwers played a 6 string back in the day, and I just acquired a 2000 Yamaha TRB6ii, which I felt nailed his old tone very well. Here s my take on this classic In Flames tune, with a bit of treble string cheekiness in the middle.
