Cheb Hasni was born in Oran 01, 02, 1968 and died 29, 09, 1994 at the age of 26. He was an Algerian singer and Raï musician. He is seen as a pioneer of Raï music and is still very popular among young people in various African and Arabic countries. He is also called le rossignol du raï, which literally means the nightingale of the raï. Cheb Hasni released his first cassete in 1986, together with Cheba Zahouania. He was one of the first singers in Algeria to sing about love, which gave him both supporters and opponents. He composed around 400 songs. He was extorted in 1994 and later killed in the Gambetta district of Oran, where he grew up. The perpetrators did not agree with the fact that he sang about divorce, alcohol and drugs.
