Toy commercials of the 1960s
A quartet toy commercials from the 1960s showcasing these popular items: SLINKY, MR. MACHINE, MR. AND MRS. POTATO HEAD (Mae Questel, the voice of Betty Boop and Olive Oyl, provides the voice for Hasbro), and ROCK EM SOCK EM ROBOTS. Back in those days, MR. POTATO HEAD kits did not come with the kind of slick plastic potato bodies that you see in the TOY STORY movies. No sireekids had to stick the plastic arms and facial features into a real potato, which produced some pretty repugnantlooking results. To add insult to injury, the flimsy plastic human bodies ( ) that came with those old kits could barely support the weight of a French fry, let alone an averagesized spud, so you could never get those damn things to stand up straight. (MR. MASHED POTATO HEAD was more like it. )
