The Strangers Return (1933) Lionel Barrymore, Miriam Hopkins, Franchot Tone

Recently divorced Louise (Miriam Hopkins) returns to her family roots by visiting her grandfather Storr (Lionel Barrymore) on his Iowa farm. Storr leery of his stepdaughter, Beatrice (Beulah Bondi), and her husband, Allen (Grant Mitchell) sees Louise as his best and last chance to get his estate in order. When Louise becomes distracted by a friendship with married farmer Guy (Franchot Tone), Beatrice and Allan move to secure the old man s inheritance by declaring him mentally unfit.
