As a DJ, it was my job to service a wide swath of music to keep everyone moving, I was not limited to disco, danceable anthem rock and even Frank Zappa made it, along with offbeat but local favorite, Jean Luc Ponty and his New Country. During one of my high school pep rallies where everyone s attendance was necessary, some one started the foot stomping and the clap and the rest of us, all four years of students assembled in one place joined in to thunderous glory of We Will Rock You. That song was on the radio constantly, and a few avant garde stations would directly segue into We Are The Champions , the next song on the album, News Of The World.
