Clare (Peggy Cummins) and her father, Victor (Ronald Squire), are masters of an unusual con. Together, they visit upscale areas and pose as newlyweds, gaining the locals trust. Then Victor vanishes with Clare s inheritance. Like clockwork, wealthy folks gather around and hand out their own money to help Clare, who, of course, regroups with Victor and splits the loot. The scheme is flawless that is, until Clare falls for Terence (Terence Morgan), a government finance inspector.
