Drum Solo Wide Open Drum Tuning Sound Ken
These are my 1971 Slingerland Buddy Rich drum set which is now over 45 years old and sounding better than ever now. This has the 14x24 inch bass drum, 9x13 inch tom, two 16x16 inch floor toms, and the amazing 4x14 inch Slingerland BR snare drum. I just put on new Remo ambassador heads on all the toms and tune them up for that big open sound that I love. So to try out all of these new heads I put on my classic Slingerland drums, I gave it a super drum solo workout. In this type of open drum solo that so many of the great drummers of the past and present have done like Buddy Rich, John Bonham, Steve Smith, Dave Weckl, Neil Peart, Louie Bellson, Joe Morello, and Sonny Payne have done, I just think of new ideas to play on my drums and just go for in this workout. I love playing on these Slingerland BR drum set and of course use them all the time with my Ken Loomer Big Band.
