Title reads: Snapshots from Normandy. Allied invasion of Northern France. Various shots across the River Orne of two Bailey Bridges erected by the Royal Engineers. The bridges are named Winston and Churchill. We see Sherman tanks going across the bridges. Various shots of village of Tilly. The village has been the scene of heavy fighting, all the buildings are in ruins. The Airfield Construction Group of the R. E. s have the job of demolishing the ruins. Various shots of bulldozers clearing piles of rubble. The last of the villagers drive away in horse drawn carts. Various shots of British troops having their food while on the front line, some sit in slit trenches eating out of mess tins. Others sit and just have a cigarette or enjoy their sweets ration.
