Guide rescues baby buffalo in Tarangire National Park. Tanzania, Africa
While in Tarangire National Park, Tanzania: We were checking out the tree platform that we would later spend the night on when our guide, Chagamba said there is a baby buffalo stuck in the mud. It was hard to see but you could hear it crying for help. The buffalo was about 100 yards away, on the far side of a water hole that was slowly drying up from the wet season. After we climbed down out of the tree we walked over toward the calf. The park ranger that was with us had to convince a couple of the adult cape buffalo to move away so that we could safely approach the calf. Eventually, Chagamba took his boots off, rolled up his pant legs, and waded into the mud. It took about ten minutes to get the calf out and get him standing on his own. We left the calf with a herd of cape buffalo watching from a distance. We returned later that evening to spend the night in the tree and the calf was gone so we assume that he made it back in with the herd. Thanks for watching. Please like and
