60. Population Growth
In this lecture, we examine the reasons behind the obvious fact that populations cannot experience unlimited growth for an indefinite period of time. We begin with a simple model of exponential growth and then develop a more complex model that takes births and deaths into account, and can be modified to further account for differing growth rates and the limit a populations environment imposes on population size. The logistic growth predicted by this model corresponds more closely to actual population growth than a simple exponential model.
