Permanent Tinting (1928)
The process involved in facial tattooing for permanent makeup EEK A woman seated on a sofa demonstrates to a man in a white coat where she would like her blusher tattooed. She lays on the sofa and the beautician covers her upper body with white cloths. A substance is rubbed into the woman s right cheek possibly anaesthetic. (The beautician is wearing black rubber gloves scary). C, U of table with various tattoo equipment and a dark powder. Dark powder is placed on the cheek then an electrical instrument is applied to the area. The woman looks into a mirror. The powder is rubbed in, cream is applied followed by a light coloured powder. Shot of the final tinted complexion. Was item in Eve s Film Review issue 386. Note: this film is not for the squeamish The beauty technician is rather sinister and the equipment he uses rather primitive. Safety print exists show print.
