Russia destroys its own satellite in orbital missile test, possibly endangering ISS astronauts

Russia is drawing international condemnation after it testfired a missile to destroy one of its own older satellites. The defunct satellite s destruction dispersed an estimated 1, 500 pieces of shrapnel into earth s orbit, threatening some of the 3, 400 active satellites that surround the planet.
