This song of the counterrevolution talk about the fight of the general Henry du Vergier, count of la Rochejaquelein, who fought the attacks from the revolutionaries anticatholics in Vendée. He led all the attacks and his leadership inspired the Catholics to maintain a heroic resistance in spite of tremendous odds. He later became the leader of the royalists armies, but is killed while leading guerilla operations on the 28 of January 1794 by republicans soldiers at the age of 21 years old.
