Assange Backer John Pilger Dies Aged 84 John Richard Pilger, the famous Australian journalist and a vocal supporter of Julian Assange has passed away at the age of 84. On Sunday his family confirmed his death in a short statement. Pilger worked to expose human suffering caused by the West s imperialist governments through his freelance reporting, documentaries and many books, including most recently regarding Israel s war in Gaza.
