Oda Slobodskaya sings Reminiscences
The great Russian Soprano Oda Slobodskaya, 18801970, studied at the Conservatoire in St Petersburg with Natalia Iretskaya, a pupil of Pauline Viardot. She left Russia as principal soprano in Fyodor Chaliapin s company and later settled in England. This is the first of three Russian Folk Songs collected by RimskyKorsakov and arranged by IppolitovIvanov. The pianist is Ivor Newton.
