Australians At Exeter (1914 1918)
Australians at Exeter, Devon. A colonial ceremonial military extravaganza which is fairly long and involved. Old general makes speech. Is presented with Australian flag; which he has trouble unfurling. Australians march in parade. A lady and some soldiers going from car into building; crowd in BG and flags flying. Outdoor ceremony: CU Australian soldier with Australian flag. CU New Zealand soldier with NZ flag. CU another soldier from British Empire country anyway a flag with Union Jack in top left; and what looks like a big white circle on rest. Priest on platform speaking. British Soldiers waving their hats as in a Hip Hip Hooray cheer. Pan across Anzac soldiers lining up. Other group marches down road with rifles; turn left. Australians wearing long coats march some have casts on arms; etc. Group of soldiers with white bands round hats march down road. Then an assorted group with a lot of elderly men; the long robe and sceptre and funny hat and powdered wig. Group of various men chat
