A history of the world s fastest Marathon runs, starting in 1980, and leading up to the final breaking of the magical 2 hours barrier by Eliud Kipchoge in 2019. The list includes all official marathon times, even those that will not be considered for the official world record, like Derek Clayton s 1969 time.
