Marradas are an activity similar to the Bull Run in Pamplona, Spain, but marradas take place mainly in Portugal. The bull is attached to a long rope, perhaps to be able to pull the bull when someone is being hurt badly. The crowd let the bull lose and they taunt the animal to make the bull chase them. The bull attached to a rope is called Toirada A Corda. Toiradas A Carda are run in the island of Terceira of the Acores islands. Marradas is a general term when people are hit buy the bull.
