Xavier Montsalvatge (19122002) dedicated his Concerto breve to Alicia de Larrocha, who gave the world premier in 1953 with Louis de Froment and the Barcelona Orchestra. It is a must to mention that on the same program she played three concertos to celebrate her 25 years of performing, she was 31 years old. The program was Beethoven piano concerto no 5, Montsalvatge concerto Breve, and Schumann concerto op 54.
