Sameer and Chloride Exide closed down for discharging untreated effluent to public
Five industries were yesterday shut down indefinitely by the National Environmental Management Authority for allegedly failing to comply with waste disposal regulations. The closure of industries that also saw nine senior officials from affected companies arrested comes as the environment authority seeks to enforce the effluent discharge rule that requires industries to treat their wastes before discharging it.
