Tribute to RICHARD DONNER (1930 2021)

As far as directors go, they don t get much more legendary than the great Richard Donner. A journeyman who started his career on TV, he hit the big time as a director in the 1970 s with THE OMEN, and was the first director to ever take the super hero genre seriously when he made 1978 s SUPERMAN THE MOVIE. In the eighties he really hit the big time with LETHAL WEAPON, which started a whole new genre of action film, the buddy cop comedy, thriller, which in turn led to three wildly successful sequels, LETHAL WEAPON 2, 3 and 4 He also, famously, directed THE GOONIES, LADYHAWKE, SCROOGED, MAVERICK and many more and ranks as one of the mostliked directors in Hollywood history.
