Under Blue Skies AKA Under Blue Sky (1960 1969)
Documentary made for the Nuffield Organisation. Photographed and Produced by Morris Motors Limited Cine Department. Laboratory Work by Denham Laboratories. Recording by Associated British Pathe Ltd. Date unknown possibly 1960s. Film begins with scenic shots of snow capped mountains a sombre and poetic voiceover accompanies the images. Travelogue style footage of Zurich, Switzerland. Narrator tells us that Switzerland is like a overfull jewel box to find the jewels we must travel in a Morris car of course (a Morris Oxford Saloon). There follows many shots of the Morris car travelling through Zurich passing various landmarks. Car travels through little hamlets and villages all very picturesque. Holiday resorts featured include Zug, Luzern, various lakes, Kusnacht, Weggis, St Gotthard and Brunnen. Car travels along lakeside road. Car passes through tunnel cut out of rock Axenstrasse. Onwards to Fluelen, Altdorf where William Tell and his son are honoured, Reuss Valley and Susten Pass.
