Senhor Badii vaga em seu carro pelos pontos da cidade onde desempregados se oferecem para trabalhos avulsos e ocasionais. Ele tenta encontrar alguém disposto a entrar no seu carro e aceitar dinheiro fácil em troca de um trabalhinho. Um trabalhinho difícil de explicar e que ninguém parece disposto a aceitar. Há quem aceite entrar no seu carro e ouvir o senhor Badii até o final. Difícil é encontrar alguém que aceite a sua generosa oferta. O que o sr. Badii quer é alguém que aceite atender ao seu último desejo, na aurora do dia seguinte: chamálo pelo nome duas vezes, ao pé de uma cova já cavada; se ele responder, socorrêlo; se não responder, cobrilo com a terra.
