Viola da gamba making, Part 15 fingerboard and tailpiece

In todays part of the viola da gamba making series you can see how a baroque fingerboard and tailpiece is build. Basically its a wooden core covered with a hardwood veneer (usually ebony). After installing the fingerboard and tailpiece, shaping the neck and gluing purfling to the back the instrument is ready for varnishing.
