GAME RECAP: Penguins vs. Rangers, Game 3 , Scoring Throughout the Lineup
As the series shifted to Pittsburgh, one of the many storylines waswhile the Penguins stars were deliveringthere needed to be more depth scoring. Consider that question answered. Brock McGinn scored an unassisted goal to start things off under two minutes into the contest. Kakko answered for New York a few minutes later, but that tie would be shortlived. Evan Rodrigues launched a puck from the blue line, it went into Shesterkins glove, bounced onto Jeff Carter, and into the net. Then, Rodrigues scored two goals of his own to round out the 1st period scoring, with the Penguins leading, 41. The Rangers were ready to bounce back in the 2nd period. Georgiev took over the net for Shesterkin, and the Rangers scored three times, with tallies from Vatrano, Panarin, and Copp. Through 40 minutes of play, each team had controlled one period.
